This is the kind of place where your feet will always be sandy.

I just finally finished moving into the cabanon on the beach of Bontarrasse. It is a little place, and it’s quite the hike to get here, but it is very nicely done inside and has everything I will need for the next two weeks. The shower is little but clean, the refrigerator is brand new, the bed is reasonably comfortable, and it’s less than twenty steps to the sea. In fact, when I wake up in the morning I need only to throw open the large window in front of my bed to see this beautiful image…

I got out of the shower just now and walked up to the third floor/loft where my bed is. Already my feet are layered in sparkling golden sand. But this place is wonderful. I get to fall asleep to the sound of waves tonight.

Last night was a lazy one. Made myself a little bit of dinner, talked to some people at home, watched the sunset, and drank some wine. Today is the first day since my arrival without beating sun and calm ocean. Granted, it is still hot and people will still swim; it’s just not my type of beach weather. Instead I will take a trip to St. Tropez, look for a job a little bit and maybe do some shopping, then hopefully find the Geant Casino (think BJs) so I can stock up on groceries for the week.

Tomorrow, maybe I’ll take a hike to the crique… not that I’m the hiking type. I am certainly the beach type, though.
